Back roads to belonging – book review by Mina R Raulston 9/30/19
Kristen Strong tells her story of finding a place of belonging in much the way as she lived it. Meandering along twisty, curvy, winding country roads. The chapters twist and turn and curve in unexpected ways in an effort to connect with her readers. Personally, I would prefer a more direct approach. If I’m meandering around feeling a little lost, I’d rather have someone just give me directions. This style of storytelling may work for some, but it just didn’t for me.

I have been a freelance writer for more than twenty years. I have now branched out and also provide editing services and I am a public speaker. I write, edit and speak on a variety of subjects.
One of the main subjects I speak and write about is domestic violence. As a survivor of domestic violence I speak out for those who can't or are too afraid to speak out. Domestic violence is a crime against the family and I believe as a society we do all we can to end it and help those who have been victimized by it.
