Write stories for your children or grandchildren. You could even have them bound and give them as gifts. Write real stories of your childhood or write fictitious stories; either way you get into the habit of writing while you experiment with different types of stories.

One of the main subjects I speak and write about is domestic violence. As a survivor of domestic violence I speak out for those who can't or are too afraid to speak out.
